Chromium Remediation and Treatment


Mutch Associates has extensive experience in remediation of soil and groundwater contaminated with hexavalanet chromium. Our staff has published extensively on the fate and transport of chromium and have developed new tools for modeling in-situ treatment of chromium. Our specific experience includes:

  • Fate and transport modeling of chromium interaction with in-situ reductants such as calcium polysulfide
  • Development of custom reaction modules for RT3D to model in-situ chromium remediation
  • Peer review of treatment strategies for sites impacted with chromium ore processing residue (COPR)
  • Laboratory bench scale treatability studies for chromium impacted soils and surface waters
  • Modeling of chromium fate and removal during water treatment unit processes
  • Design of monitoring programs to assess chromium specaition in surface and groundwater systems
