esOur work in the environmental sciences area crosses several disciplines including chemistry, geosciences, biology, ecology, and environmental engineering.  Members of our staff have been leaders in the field of developing partitioning models for metals in water, soils and sediments, and in redox transformations of metal and metalloids, we use the most up-to-date commercially-available speciation modeling software.  Since research is continually improving our understanding in this area, we write our own modeling software to include the most recent advancements.  Our specific areas of expertise include:

  • Fate, Transformations, and Speciation of Heavy Metals in Surface Waters and Sediments
  • Chromium redox transformations and remediation
  • Degradation of organic chemicals in soils, sediments, and water
  • Ecotoxicological effects of organic and inorganic contaminants in lakes, rivers, and estuaries
  • Multi-phase transport and partitioning of chemicals contaminants
  • Reduction/oxidation of contaminants in the subsurface
