Remediation Services

rsMutch Associates’ founder and President, Robert Mutch, has been a pioneer in the remediation of waste disposal sites and industrial plant sites since well before the advent of Superfund, SARA, and RCRA. Beginning in the early to mid-1970s, he helped develop many of the technologies now routinely deployed at Superfund and other waste disposal sites, including some of the earliest applications of compacted clay and geomembrane landfill caps, subsurface barrier walls, retrofitted leachate collection systems, groundwater extraction and treatment, and soil vapor extraction systems. He has taught more than 100 training courses in hazardous waste site remediation throughout the US, in Europe, and in Australia.

The collective experience of Mutch Associates’ groundwater hydrologists and environmental engineers in site remediation includes the following:

  • Remedial investigations
  • Feasibility studies
  • Design of in situ and ex situ treatment systems
  • Development of “Exit Strategies” for Superfund and other long-term remediation systems
  • Engineering Design
  • Construction QA/QC
  • Allocation analyses
  • Litigation assistance
